  1. SCENARIO

The earth split apart like old flesh, puffing a musty, raw smell into the air.  The shovel thudded down into the loam again and again, biting into the soil, the grunts of laborers echoing around the build site, as first foundations, then strong walls, towers a gatehouse and finally the storage warehouses were constructed.  The task of weeks was completed in days, the hopeful pilgrims working with the fervor only fanatics possess.  It was as the pilgrims delved into the center of their new claim, excavating basements for their buildings that the screaming started.

The young man drove his shovel into the soil, the condensation from early spring soaking his spun coveralls immediately.  He was bored, and so he was not attentive when his next shovel strike broke through the soil and he fell bodily into a hollow space in the center of the claim.  As he lay on the ground in the dark expanse, his leg shattered, he was immediately hit with the stench of old death and corruption.  He vomited immediately and soiled himself, overcome with the smell.  Cries from above called out to him, and a rope was lowered by his fellow laborers.  Two strong men lowered themselves to him, torches lit.  The flickering light revealed a scene of nightmare, piles of bones, oddly preserved corpses in various stages of dismemberment and a horrifying altar in the back area of the basement.  Lining the demon place of worship were effigies of ghoulish sentinels, their decomposed hands clutching great-swords and axes, interspersed with gigantic knights in jagged armor, gripping pole-arms in midnight-clad gauntlets.

Outside the hole, the other pilgrims clustered, though a few succumbed to the cloying decay emanating from the gouge in the ground and were on their knees.  The lord of the claim pushed through the mass, annoyed that labor had ceased.  Behind him, clouds converged, plunging the claim into shadow.  As the shadow covered the slash in the earth, staccato screaming, breathless and desperate, shrieked up from the hole.  The porcine sound of bursting skin followed by the fatty slap of meat hitting stone echoed, and the rope began to jerk frantically.  The crowd recoiled, all except the Lord, as the bloody shaking hands of the original fallen pilgrim suddenly appeared, clawing at the rope and earth in an attempt to flee the hole.  His arms appeared, slashed with deep claw marks, before his head emerged, and at the sight pilgrims began animal-like screaming.  The pilgrim had been...savaged, a full third of his skull had been crushed, and his brain shredded.  Somehow he was still alive, and the Lord grabbed the young man to drag him to freedom.  He pulled and was thrown back, the young man lighter than expected.

He was...gone...below the rib cage, torn as if pulled apart by something.  He pawed at the lord's face as he died, and the crowd of laborers climbed over each other to get away from the scene.

The Lord stood, and turned back to the hole, drawing a beautiful silver blade from his belt.  He turned back to his flock and breathed one command.

    "Run"

as a dark shape began to emerge from the ground.

The pilgrims fled, screaming into the night as the Lord turned back to the shadow - a prayer on his lips.

He didn't even take a step before he was bifurcated at the waist, slopping to the ground with a meaty smack and a gasp of shock pushed from his mouth.  As he hit the ground, the clouds broke, and sun hit the claim, banishing the shadow and silencing the melee, as the sounds of fleeing pilgrims faded into the distance.

    SEQUENCE

    • At 2000 EST, 27 Jan 2019, the monument protecting the objective area will be deleted.
    • Players are then free to move to and control the objective.
    • At 2200 EST, 27 Jan 2019, the GM will end the event via "green text" from RCON.
    • Whichever group "controls" the center of the objective area will be declared the winner.
      • The "winners" will receive a reward from the adjudicating GM delivered to their claim (if multiple claims are present, they must elect a "winner", if no decision can be made, the claim with the most members within the objective area will be declared the winner)
    • If the objective area is still contested, the event will be considered a draw.
      • If the event ends in a draw, no reward will be provided to contesting claims, and the only loot will be that contained in the storage containers in the objective area.
    • No later than (NLT) 2359, 27 Jan 2019, the objective area will be deleted.

    DETAILS

    • Once more unto the breach! To "win" the scenario a claim/group MUST control the center of the objective area uncontested.
    • Until my last breath! If there is still fighting when the time ends, the event is considered a draw.
    • All that Glitters! The storage containers within the perimeter contain loot, destroy them at your peril.
      • The "winning" claim will receive a reward from the GM.
      • The storage within the objective area will contain loot.
    • Incoming! Siege equipment is encouraged
    • In midnight-clad. By day, the claim is abandoned, but whatever killed the pilgrims may still be present, beware the night - as it is dark and full of terrors.
      • There may be NPCs (Played by GMs) - they will have full stats, and be fully armed and armored, they may appear at night within the walled area of the objective and attempt to slaughter any players inside.  There may be multiple waves of them, all will have loot on them.  THEY WILL TRY TO KILL YOU.
    • Uncontested! One side must be unopposed (no enemy within the walled area of the objective) to be uncontested.
    • Contested! If there is still fighting, or enemy within the walled objective area, it is considered contested.

    CLOSE

Hope to see you all out there - for as long as you all are able to last.

May the odds be forever in your favor!

  2. Hello Folks,

In the spirit of continually updating our rules to reflect providing a better experience - find below 2 rules related to player activity that will be added to the main rule-set in the next 24hrs.

Context - some claims go inactive for weeks and weeks, with players logging in only to feed their monument.  This is fine, but without any notice (vacation/indication), t1 claims and private monuments can persist for a long time, and the areas of terrain become unavailable to new players.  It clutters up the server, and is ultimately detrimental.

So - if you have to go on an extended absence, or can't be active - let us know!  If you tell the GMs (via a PM) you won't fall into these inactivity rules.  If you absent yourself without notice then these following rules will be applied:

    1) Inactivity: If you don't log in for more than 14 days without notice your monument and claim will be deleted to free up the terrain for others to use.

    2) AFK Monument Feeding:  If you, for more than 14 days, in the judgement of the GMs, are only logging in to feed your monument - without any kind of notice - you will have your monument deleted in the same fashion as an inactive.

Hopefully this helps to de-clutter the server.

    OGG-Staff,
    Head-Admin

    Lilith

    31 Jan 2019: Amended Paras 3 and 4

24 Feb 2019: Changed language regarding discord names and roles

3/6/2019 Removed rule unharvest able area, changed language of Para 7 Rule 1,

    1. CONDUCT
      1. What the staff expect from the players
        1. HAVE FUN:  Participate, get involved, compete, fight, craft, make war, concoct schemes, jockey for power, dominate the map or don't.  The only limitation to your ambition and reach within this server is your own skill and motivation.  But have fun, get involved with the community, get in comms, post RP on the forums - vote for the server and donate if you want to, tell jokes, post videos and screenshots of your projects and fights.  If you ever find yourself not having fun, reach out to the staff - reach out to each other, in the end, that is what this community is about.
        2. READ THE RULES: In any instance where a rule violation has taken place, and the response from the player is "I didn't read the rules", there will be no further discussion.  The responsibility is on the players to read and be familiar with the rules, and to reach out to staff if anything is unclear.  Ignorance is no excuse, and rules will be enforced regardless of whether a player has read them.
        3. Interactions with Staff:  The staff are not going to bend the rules, they will never provide leeway to one player over another.  If you've broken a rule you will be warned, if it is sufficiently grievous or malicious you will be temp-banned.  Remember the first thing above - you are a guest in OGGs house, if the staff are talking to you about a rule or feature, it is because you have violated it in some fashion and it needs to be corrected.  Take it in the manner that it will be delivered, maturely.
        4. Attitude: It is virtually a given that on a long enough time-frame on this server, something is not going to go the way a player wanted it to.  A rule adjudication, the response to a support ticket, a tactical engagement, a crafting project, a political agreement, diplomatic chaos, betrayal, deception, personality conflicts and good old fashioned game glitches/errors.  Try to maintain a good attitude, and provide feedback.
        5. Feedback: Provide feedback!  Give ideas! Get involved!  We will consider any and every idea that is presented, and we will listen/read any feedback that is provided.  We need your input to continue evolving the server experience.  Every rule, every feature, every event is a result of player feedback.
        6. Participate:  Compete with each other if you want, jostle for dominance on the map, make alliances and agreements or plot to take down others, every interaction adds depth to the experience on this map, and the richest experiences come with more interaction between players.  Be a crafter, open a shop - sell your wares or hold festivals or parties.  Do WHATEVER your imagination inspires you to do.
        7. Role-playing:  Not everyone is "good" at role-playing, or even likes doing it, but there is an RP element to this server - get in the spirit of it - it drastically reduces friction when players use RP.
        8. Keep calm and feudal on: Things are going to get heated.  The end-game of LiF essentially guarantees that this will occur - try and remember that everyone is here to enjoy themselves and participate after their own fashion. Try and separate the player from their character, and if they are one and the same, try not to let competition and rivalry turn into toxicity.
        9. Respect: You are a guest in the house that OGG has created for use, please keep that in mind as you conduct yourself and be respectful to your fellow players and staff
      2. What you can expect from the staff:
        1. Accountability:  The GMs are accountable to the owners/founders of OGG, done. If YOU EVER FEEL that a GM has acted in an abusive, favoring or inappropriate matter, submit a GM abuse ticket via the OGG Forums.
        2. Responsiveness: The staff generally respond to queries/tickets within minutes, but we ask you give us up to 48hrs, depending on the nature of your ticket.
        3. Respect: The staff here at OGGs LIF Server live and die on their provision of respectful adjudication, guidance, correction and enforcement.
        4. Reliability:  The Staff are volunteers, and though we strive for consistency, there will be times when things must be postponed, or need to be corrected/adjusted - have patience.
        5. Transparency:  If we have to make a change to the server, if we have to make a tough adjudication on a rule or situation - we will explain our rationale to the player or player-base.
        6. Trust:  You can rest assured that the only thing more important than respect to the staff at OGG is trust.  Trust that decisions will be analyzed and taken after due consideration.  Trust that no GM will ever take action of any kind on their GM accounts that will jeopardize the integrity of the GM role, or damage the player base.
    2. DISCIPLINE
      1. Method: The disciplinary system on OGG follows a Warning/Temp-Ban/Perma-Ban escalation. This system applies both to Discord and in-Game accessibility.  At the GM's discretion you maybe banned/removed from Discord.
        1. Warning - For a confirmed first rule violation you will receive a warning from a GM
        2. Temp-Ban - For a second rule violation you will receive a temp-ban from 1-7 Days at the discretion of the GM executing the Ban.
        3. Perma-Ban - For a third rule violation, you will be Permanently Banned from the OGG Community.
        • Note - players may be Temp or Perma-banned at ANY TIME should their violations be severe enough (hacking/glitching/severe conduct violations/chronic attitude issues, etc.)
        • Note 1 - If a player creates an issue that is not covered under one of the existing rules, the GM adjudicating may make a determination that a violation has occurred and issue a warning/temp/perma-ban as necessary.
      2. Bans:  If you are banned for any reason, the only viable method of appeal will be via the Ban Appeal forum ticket.  PMs will be ignored, and requests in chat channels will be moderated out.
      3. Hacking, Glitching, Exploitation, Third Party Modifications: Each of the aforementioned are dealt with separately below.
        1. Hacking - If you are found to have hacked while in-game on OGG LIF:YO, you will be permanently banned immediately.
        2. Glitching - If you are found to have used game glitches in a malicious fashion in the eyes of the staff, you will be temp-banned immediately.
        3. Exploitation - If you are found to have been exploiting game mechanics or rules in a malicious fashion in the eyes of the staff, you will be temp-banned immediately.
        4. Third Party modifications - If you are found to have been using 3rd Party mods to gain an unfair advantage within the server in the eyes of the staff, you will be temp or permanently banned immediately.
    3. REPORTING
      1. General GM Support Request - There are two options available for requesting GM support.
        1. Discord Specific Voice Channel - if you require GM support, join the Discord voice channel "Help-desk"
        2. OGG Forums Support Ticket - https://old-guys-gaming.com/forum/index.php?/lifhelpdesk/
          1. This will be used for ALL tickets: Rule Violations, T1 Monument requests, general GM support requests, GM Questions, and GM Feedback/Suggestions.
          2. You must include at a minimum the 5Ws including screenshot evidence clearly indicating the situation you are reporting.  Video makes the best evidence.
            • Note - if your Rule violation ticket DOES NOT include clear evidence, is poorly worded, or incomplete, it will NOT be processed.
            • Rule violations reported in discord will be moderated out - use the OGG Forums
      2. Ban Appeal - you may submit a Ban appeal if you feel your Ban was assigned incorrectly, or you wish to make amends for your behavior, and/or dispute the validity of the Ban.
        • NOTE - at no time use private messages to report anything, utilize the reporting options above to ensure that ALL staff can see and respond to your request/issue - PMs for GM support will be ignored.
      3. GM Abuse reporting - If you ever feel a GM has abused their position, or powers, you may submit a GM abuse ticket via the appropriate section on the OGG forums. This will allow adjudication to occur.  Note - Keep it out of global game chat, and discord chat - use the ticket system, anything else will not be acknowledged and will be moderated out.  The only acceptable method is using the admin abuse ticket system  that ONLY the OGG Owners can view.  WARNING: Any exploitation of this, misuse, false allegations or slander will be dealt with decisively.
    4. IN-GAME CHAT, DISCORD, and ROLE-PLAYING
      1. General Chat/Discord Rules: Racism, Discrimination, Hate Speech, excessive explicit language, Political Debates, explicit sexual content, excessive toxicity, chronic defamatory language, out-of-character personal attacks, advertisement/recruitment for other servers, and allegations of GM abuse without substantiation will not be tolerated.
      2. Guild Discord Voice/Text Channels:  Guilds may request private voice/text channels in discord - use the appropriate format indicated there and complete the pre-requisites (Book of Houses post)
      3. Discord Names:  We highly encourage you to incorporate your in-game name into your discord name, so that we can more easily and quickly process your tickets.
      4. In-Game Chat: In order to make dealing with trader requests, administer global chat, provide direction to players, do event text, etc - only GMs are permitted to use alternative chat colors.  The following are the only exceptions for our server:
        1. /whisper (text) or /# (text) to send a short range message that will be "heard" only by nearby players within 5 meter (2.5 tiles).
        2. /say (text) or just type a message text into chat window. That message will be "heard" by players within 10 meter (5 tiles).
        3. /shout (text) or /! (text) and a message text to send a message within 20 meter (10 tiles)
      5. In-Game Voice: In-game VOIP is permitted at all times.
        1. VOIP will not count towards RP initiation. If someone responds to typed RP with VOIP it will be dealt with in the same manner as if they were not responding to RP (10 Lines of RP required).
        2. Any misuse of in-game voice communication is prohibited.  Examples include but are not limited to: screeching, loud music, or any verbal violation of our existing chat rules.
      6. Role-Playing:  The more RP the better!  RP is encouraged in Global and mandatory in Local chat within the game.  RP is not required in Discord Voice channels, nor is it required in discord text channels.
        1. NOTE - IF YOU STAY IN RP WHILE RANTING - YOU WILL LIKELY BE GOOD TO GO!
        2. If you need to speak out of character please use the ((I am speaking out of character)) typing convention
        3. If you wish to describe actions please use the **Riders approach the gates of X** convention
        • Keep the language as RP as possible - get in the spirit of an RP server! The more RP the better!!
    5. ACCOUNTS, ALTS, NAMES, AND ACTIVITY
      1. Player Names: Player Names may not have symbols/numbers/characters.  They must not violate any of the chat rules and players are encouraged but not required to make them in the spirit of an RP server.  Player names that are deemed inappropriate by a GM will be changed.  If players refuse, delay, complain about changing their names, the GMs will choose a name for them (yikes!)
      2. Accounts/Characters: Only 1 character per account is possible on this server (you can't make another one if you tried). If you have multiple accounts, and they have characters on our server THEY MUST ALL BE WITHIN THE SAME CLAIM.
        1. If you are found to have violated this rule in any fashion, all your accounts but 1 will be banned, and the GMs will decide which account survives. (ban appeals will be considered case by case to for this)
      3. Inactivity: If you don't log in for more than 14 days without notice your monument and claim will be deleted to free up the terrain for others to use
      4. AFK Monument Feeding:  If you, for more than 14 days, in the judgement of the GMs, are only logging in to feed your monument - without any kind of notice - you will have your monument deleted in the same fashion as an inactive
      5. Monument Decay:  If you allow your monument to decay without notice, it will be considered inactive and deleted to free up the terrain.
      6. Character deletion:  If you do not log in for more than 30 days - your character will be deleted
      7. Participation in war: Players must have characters that are at least 1 month old on the OGG server (verified via RCON), and have a minimum of 100 hrs of game-play on OGGs LIF:YO Server (verified via RCON) to be eligible to participate in any war.
    6. CLAIMS, MONUMENTS, BUILDING, TREES, and RESTRICTIONS
      1. Un-claimable Areas: No claim boundary may be within 15 tiles of Clay deposits. No building on the slopes of "Trouble Peak Trading District". If a claim is discovered over any clay deposit it will be removed - plan accordingly
      2. Un-buildable Areas: All bridges on the server may not be blocked. Access may be restricted in the manner below, but a minimum of 1 tile of access must remain.  No building structures on clay deposits.
        1. No unmovable structures may be placed/constructed within 10 tiles of the paved area of the bridges
        2. Movement MAY be restricted with "movable" items but a path MUST be left of at least 1 tile
        3. No unmovable structures maybe placed/constructed within 10 tiles of a clay deposit.
      3. Tree Stumps: If left, they cause server lag - it is mandatory to remove stumps that you create.
        1. Violations of this rule will result in an escalation up the disciplinary scale with the following caveats:
          • Instead of a temp-ban the offending claim will suffer from spontaneous Bear migrations, the elusive OGG bears are attracted to the sap released from aging tree-stumps.
          • Instead of a perma-ban a violating claim will have all trees on their claim removed by a GM and be fined a number of stacked tree-logs in accordance with the gravity of the offense.
      4. Tree Wall/Farms: Using trees as walls is prohibited, with the following caveats:
        1. You may plant trees on the perimeter of your claim, but YOU MUST leave AT LEAST 1 Tile buffer around every Tree.
        2. Tree farms are permitted and encouraged - some points:
        3. It may not cover MORE THAN 25% of your claim boundary.
        4. Tree Farms do not require the 1 tile buffer
        5. It must be a  visible square/grouping of trees that does not prevent access to the claim.
      5. Deconstruction/Destruction of Structures/Scaffolding:
        1. Scaffolding may be deconstructed at all times.
        2. Any structures partially covered by a claim boundary MAY NOT BE DECONSTRUCTED by players not in owning claim.  Should this be confirmed as occurring the offending players will escalate up the disciplinary system at an accelerated rate.
        3. Any structures/scaffolding NOT COVERED by a claim boundary: May be deconstructed.  May be destroyed by siege equipment.
      6. GM Created Areas - all GM created sites (Trouble peak trader district, Dead-man's Isle Bridge, Holler Isle Bridge, Outpost Port Towns, ALL event sites, GM created trade E/W & N/S roads) may not be altered in any fashion (terra-forming, warfare engineering, deconstruction). Claim boundaries may cover GM created roads only. Violation of this will result in accelerated movement up the disciplinary scale.  These sites may be used for PVP (excluding the trader district which is a non-PVP zone) with the above restriction, and MOVABLE structures may be placed as a result.
      7. Monument System: T1 Starter Kit ELIGIBILITY - this is for fresh spawns to the server only.  If you have joined another claim at any time, you ARE NO LONGER eligible for a monument kit. In order to be permitted to upgrade your monument you must meet the prerequisites for each tier OR pay a fee. To receive the kit, you must request one by submitting a GM support ticket on the OGG Forums.
        1. Tier 4 reqs - 4+ guild members/enclosed settlement and castle/housing for 4 people, and a keep OR 100 Gold coins.
        2. Tier 3 reqs - 3+ guild members/enclosed settlement and castle/housing for 3 people OR 50 Gold coins.
        3. Tier 2 reqs - 2+ guild members OR 5 Gold Coins.
        4. Tier 1 reqs - None - submit a support ticket to receive a one time start monument pack.
        • If a guild is found to have upgraded without meeting the requirements they will be required to pay the fee, or have their monument downgraded by a GM.
      8. Each tier of monument comes with rules on warfare. Reference  War Rules 2.0 post.
        1. Tier 1 - cannot declare war or be declared on
        2. Tier 2 - cannot declare war or be declared on
        3. Tier 3 - can declare war and be declared on
        4. Tier 4 - can declare war and be declared on
      9. Live-Map Considerations:
        1. Standings - use of the ALLIED standing between guilds is forbidden, it causes back-end issues that will make your claim unplayable until a GM corrects the issue.  DO NOT USE IT.
    7. COMBAT
      1. Non-PVP Zones: The only area where PVP is not permitted on the map is Inside The Gatehouses on the paved tiles in the area of the Trouble Peak Trader District.  The only caveat is that on the sand of the Red Sands Arena, PVP is permitted at any time.
      2. Combat Logging, praying home and "/stuck": All three of these commands are prohibited during an active fight, or ANY active interaction (presence of, chat with, RP) with another player - with the below caveats.
        1. If the defenders of a raid remain in their house/hut/shack/warehouse, etc during a PVP engagement and take no hostile action for 2 mins - the Raiders may pray home/log-off/stuck etc.  If defenders remain INSIDE a house/hut/shack/warehouse, etc during any active interaction and take no hostile action for 2mins, they may then pray home/log-off/stuck as necessary
        2. If both sides agree, these commands may be used in an active fight, or ANY active interaction.
      3. Server Night-time: Night-time will be formally recognized between 1800-0200 (6pm-2am) according to the Live-map clock.
      4. Initiation of PVP: Any action with a weapon of any kind with intent to cause damage. (slashing with a weapon, firing an arrow, firing a trebuchet, throwing a naphtha pot, punching, priming a swing, aiming a cross-bow, drawing a bow-string - war stance isn't enough)
      5. Role-playing Initiation: There is a requirement for an RP conversation in local chat in order to initiate PVP during the day on a player claim (note exceptions above).
        1. The conversation must be 10 lines total (5 lines a side - read groups or individuals). The conversation must consist of actual sentences/phrases (a count-down isn't appropriate).  The conversation must be typed in local chat.
        2. To be eligible to PVP during an RP initiation - ALL RAIDERS, must be within visual render range of the individual(s) executing the RP.  ALL DEFENDERS must be WITHIN the claim boundary where the RP is occurring.
        3. If someone initiates RP with you - you MUST respond. Some amplification:
          • If someone does not respond to you, the aggressing side may type 10 lines worth of conversation and then attack.
          • If someone is clearly afk - the aggressing side may wait 2 minutes, and are then free to attack (no conversation required)
          • If someone attempts to avoid the interaction (mounting a horse, riding away on a horse, using flee) - the aggressive side may initiate PVP (this will activate a raid-cool-down)
          • If both parties agree in the specific encounter, PVP may be initiated with less than the above 10 lines.
      6. CASTLE DOCTRINE: Claims may initiate PVP without RP at any time day/night WITHIN their own claim boundary.  If this occurs, the opposing party may fight back (even if they are on a raid cool-down). Amplification:
        1. If a claim uses ranged weapons (throwing, bows/cross-bows/slings/trebuchets) from a position WITHIN the claim boundary to shoot at players OUTSIDE the claim boundary - then those taking fire may fight back without incurring a raid-cool-down, or requiring RP initiation of any kind.
      7. Gondor Calls for Aid: Any member of a claim may post in global "Claim Name - Calls for Aid - in-game Date".  From the moment that is typed into global the requirement for RP on that specific claim until the NEXT in-game day (via in-game map) is suspended.  Some examples below - use your imagination, but it must be clear you are calling for aid.
        • Example 1: "GM claim, calls for aid on 21 Sept 1068"
        • Example 2: "Nubzclaim, need help, under attack on 21 Sept 1068"
        • Example 3 "Glorious Claim, vagrants and bandits are currently attacking our hallowed walls, we call on our allies, vassals and free peoples to defend us on this, the 21st Day of September, in the year of our lord 1068"
          1. Any exploitation of this will result in a temp ban as a minimum.
          2. Claims activating this should screen-shot their global with the in-game map open to show the same date.  This will enable any adjudications to occur more efficiently.
      8. Thunder-Dome: Claim leads may submit a GM support ticket in Discord to have the RP requirement for their claim removed (minimum of 2 RL Weeks).
        1. This ONLY applies to the requesting claims template.  It removes RP requirements for any players at any time while WITHIN the requesting claim's template.
        2. Sequence:
          • Claim lead submits a normal GM support ticket requesting "Thunder-dome".
          • GM will acknowledge the ticket and record in a new Discord Channel. "Thunder-dome"
          • The format will be "Claim Name - RP requirement voided"
          • From the moment that the GM posts in the "Thunder-Dome" channel, the req for RP is deactivated UNTIL the originated claim-lead submits a GM support request to have it re-activated (minimum of 2 RL Weeks)
      9. Horse Jumping:  Horse jumping is permitted at all times.
      10. Combat Stacking: Stacking as a means of offense or defense is permitted at all times, provided it follows the rules of physics.
        1. Tables, crates, chests, barrels etc - are appropriate types of items - Bark Boxes ARE NOT permitted at any time.
        2. Stacking must reasonably adhere to the laws of physics - if it would collapse in real life, then it isn't acceptable.  The following caveat applies:
          • Items do not have to strictly touch, as the mechanics of placement make this extremely troublesome - but they must be close enough there is no question that the structure will not collapse.
      11. Warfare Engineering Equipment: Use of warfare engineering equipment is permitted AT ALL TIMES on/off claim in accordance with the rules for PVP initiation.  There is one exception: warfare engineering equipment MAY NOT be used on GM created structures/sites UNLESS specified for a specific event (The Witch events, for example)
      12. Raiding: A raid occurs when a player/group initiates PVP WITHIN an opposing player's claim boundary.
        1. 24hr Cool-down: A player may only raid a claim once every 24hrs.  You may conduct raids on multiple claims.
        2. Any guilds with raiders ON the claim template being raided, and ANY guilds with raiders within visual render range of the initiation of PVP will be bound by the PVP initiation that initiates the raid.
        3. Raiders MAY NOT be present on a claim they have raided until the 24hr period has ended.  With the following exceptions:
          • If defenders explicitly invite raiders on cool-down, onto their claim, then they may set foot within the boundary but MAY NOT initiate PVP.  If Raiders are on a claim they have raided within 24hrs, and the defenders initiate pvp, then the Raiders may respond with no issues.
          • Note - Mixed Groups: If there is a mixed group of Raiders (some on cool-down for the targeted claim, some not) - the whole group is affected by the cool-down and may not cross the target claim's boundary.
        4. Raiders MAY NOT enter a shack/hut/house/keep UNLESS the defenders within it are in fighting from it.  Raiders may apply weapons effects onto the house at any time (melee, ranged, siege)
        5. Re-spawns/Nakeds: Respawned/Naked players may be re-attacked and killed with the following exceptions:
          • If a re-spawned player yields and remains that way, they may not be attacked.
          • If a re-spawned player sits down and remains sitting, they may not be attacked.
          • If a re-spawned player uses the "trespasser" command they may be attacked.
        6. Ending a Raid:  Raids are considered to have "ended" when any of the following criteria are met.
          • All defenders are sitting/yielded or inside a house/hut/shack for a period of 10 minutes.
          • All members of the raiding party move out of visual render range from the targeted claim.
          • Note - ANY player that moves out of visual render range from the targeted claim will be considered "disengaged" and unable to rejoin the raid. They will be on cool-down as of that moment.
      13. PVP on Claim: Initiation of PVP on a claim during the day requires RP initiation unless the claims are at war, castle doctrine is applied, or it is server night-time.
        • Note - If PVP is initiated on claim at night, and the encounter continues into the day (players remain present on either side), then no RP initiation is required.
      14. PVP off Claim: No RP is required to initiate PVP while a player is off a claim, at any time.
        • Note - If PVP is initiated while off claim, and either party retreats onto a claim during the day - the combat will stop until the proper RP initiation occurs, or CASTLE DOCTRINE is used.

  8. Evening Folks - please find below the details for an event taking place Next Saturday, 17 November 2018.

    Scenario

She gazed out over the bustling trader district, letting the smells and sounds of it wash over her and sweep away the tension in her neck from the day's business.  She wiped her brow, slick with sweat, and gazed up at the cold sunlight in the crisp air of a virgin winter.

She surveyed her work, horse-carts packed to the brim with, goods, wares, riches and currency for her journey, ready to do business with the hardy people of the Realm...provided she survived the journey.  The realm had never been safe, never been open for good honest people to trade - she intended to correct that, and in opening up trade routes in every corner, ushering in a new era of prosperity and bury even further the desolation and bloodshed of the previous decade.

But she needed to make it to the Trade Claim, intact.  She had watched the meek and powerful sparring in the arena, she knew that there were heroes and warriors alike in the land, she hoped that when she loosed her Ravens, they would answer and assist her in her journey.

But the road is long, and the night is dark.

    Full of terrors.

She needed to make to the Trade Claim.

    Details

Who:  Traveling trader will journey from the Trouble Peak Trader District to the Claim of The Rangers Camp.

    What:

The trader will periodically journey to player claims that have a constructed "Trade Post" building - provided she arrives there intact.
Once in location, a trade post session will be conducted, in the same fashion as at the trader district. When the traveling trader crosses the claim boundary of Ranger camp, PVP is not permitted for the duration of the trader session.  When the trader crosses the claim boundary again to return to the trade-post, PVP may occur according to the normal rules for PVP.
The Trader will hire escorts, if the escorts ensure she completes her journey out and back, they will each be paid 5 gold coins.

    Where:

The journey will begin at the Trouble Peak Trader District, when escorts have arrived to protect her.
She will travel to the The Rangers Camp, and conduct trade (if she makes it).
She will then travel back to the trader district, where she will pay her escorts if she has lived!

When.  Event begins 9pm EST 17 November 2018

Why:  For claims that build trade posts, there is a chance the trader will come to you!

    Other:

    • Normal server rules for PVP apply during the journey.
    • There MAY be bandits present - protect the trader at all costs if you want the trade post session to occur!
    • Kill the trader and turn in her head at the Red Sands Arena for a reward of 10 Gold Coins (but the trade post will then not happen until a new trader arrives!)
    • Loot the Trader's Cart - its worth the attempt!
    • Kill the Bandits or drive them off - loot them for rewards!
    • This is the first of these events, if you build a trade post, the trader will come visit you!
    • Any questions at all - please reach out!

    Lilith

*Archers may bring their own equipment providing it meets our Equipment Standards
below, bows and arrows will be provided for those Patrons
    without their own Equipment.*

All archers must comply with the commands of the designated GM.

Any archer seeing an unsafe act on the range is to call a stop to shooting by calling out "Hold" or "Fast".

Any archer that looses during such a time will be disqualified from the Contest

    Archers Equipment:

    •  All bows must be kept unstrung during the hours of Faire with the exception of the times for the Archery Contest.
    • Crossbows are not permitted.
    • Arrows must be wooden shafted and feather fletched.
    • Arrowheads must be Field or Target heads (blunt).
    • No broadheads, Bodkin or Bolts allowed.
    • All Patrons MUST have their equipment checked by the GM prior to the beginning of the Contest.

    Scoring:

Each Archer will loose 6 arrows (known as 1 "end") per round for a maximum of 30 points.

    Thigh = 2 points

    Torso = 3 points

    Forearm = 4 points

    Head = 5 points

The Archery Contest is a single elimination style tournament. Generally, two archers from each line advance to the next round, the rest are out.

If an advancing archer is disqualified, The next highest scoring archer takes their place. The number of archers on a line and the number of lines in a round are based on the amount of archers and the size of the range. The archers of each line will loose 1 end (6 arrows) at the GM's command. When the Archer is finished, he/she will step back away from the line. When all archers of the line are finished, the GM will give the command to "Lay down your bows!" and count your scores. Have your score counted and recorded quickly please.

    Round 1

Based on the number of archers competing and at the discretion of the GM, either the highest scoring archer of each line OR the TWO highest scoring archers of each line will be announced and they will move to the next round. All other archers are out.

    Round 2

After all lines of round 1 are scored, The GM will call the names of the archers qualified to shoot round 2. Round 2 is usually only 1 line of archers. When all archers are finished shooting and the scores are recorded the GM will either announce the Winner and the runner-up OR the names of the two highest scoring archers who will move to round 3. This determination is based on the number of archers in round 2.

    Round 3

If the situation warrants. This round is usually between only the two highest scoring archers of round two. After it is shot and scored the Winners and the Runner-up are announced. Prizes are awarded to the Winners and Runner Up.

    Ties:

If there is two archers at the end of all three rounds with tie scores. A distance tie round will be shot. Each archer will loose 1 end (6 arrows) in a series of distances determined by the Gm. After it is shot the GM will announce the Winner.

  14. Evening Folks,

There are times when we as GM's need help from the players. When this happens GM's will request help and will pay for jobs completed. Each job assigned by the GM's will be explained to each player that wishes to help. There is no pressure to help. Players only need to help if they wish.
