SCENARIO "I'll see you all in hell" A noble valediction from the odious toad of a merchant as he stood imperiously in his small leaky raft. His menials slowly rowed him out towards his waiting vessel, their fear-wide eyes locked firmly on the horde assembling at the mouth of the outpost. The two guards he was addressing shared resigned looks before turning from the shabby dock and back to their gates. A sign on rusted chains hung over the gate-house "Novem Regna Imports" scrawled in dripping ink, smeared before it dried. Smeared like the hope for prosperity of the merchant outpost, smeared like the hope the guards had that they would live to see another sunrise. They were drawn to the single trade-cart in the center of the outpost, bound with arcane wards and marked with a sigil of horrifying significance. The patterns squirmed as they looked at them, and one of the guards vomited explosively while the other screwed his eyes shut in pain. They knew that staying was suicide, but they knew it was also suicide to abandon the property of the even more terrifying owner of the cart. Woe betide whatever greedy mob ended up taking the contents over their dead bodies. There was no way for the increasingly agitated mobs outside to understand the wrath that would set down on them if they followed through with stealing the cart - but for the two guards inside, death would be preferable to dereliction of duty. The vomiting guard composed himself as a massive explosion rocked the outpost, flinging the guards against the stone walls and blowing the gate-house wide open. As the shock-wave dissipated, the killing started, whatever fragile agreements the raving horde had made dissolved in the face of pure avarice. The screams of men and horses, the clashing of blades and the sluicing of gore from disemboweled combatants rang like a cacophony of hatred on the walls of the outpost, and the cart and its obscene contents pulsed with sickening light in tune to it. The two guards struggled to rise as the first of the charging warriors reached the gap in the walls. The first to his feet hurled his spear - punching through the chest of the lead marauder and driving him into the man behind. A third warrior charged passed his fallen comrades, bull-rushing the still staggering, and now weaponless guard into the ground and caving his skull in on the flag stones. As he died the guard managed to mumble "Ave pater nox". The remaining guard drew his short sword and faced the dozen dirty murderers that had now gained entry. "You don't know what is going to descend on you if you do this, he'll come for his prize...you don'..." A hammer-blow cut the guard's warning short, a throwing axe embedded in his frontal lobe killed his language center, and he collapsed with a wheeze. Silence reigned in the clearing, and the murderers turned to face each other with almost ritualistic deliberateness. They disappeared in a fire-ball as an artillery shell from a trebuchet obliterated them in an instant as even more fighters pressed into the enclosed space. None of the throng noticed, but the merchant, slowly shrinking in the distance locked rigid, his back arching and eyes glowing with a sickly haze. "Father, it is done - the way is opened for you, the blood flows." SEQUENCE 2300 EST, 18 Jan 19, the GM monument at "Novem Regna Imports" will be deleted. Inside the Outpost will be a trader cart that is the objective of the event. Players will need to return the trader cart to their claim in order to "win" the event. The event ends when a claim returns the cart to their claim template or 120 minutes has elapsed from the time the GM monument is deleted. If a claim is able to return the trader cart to their claim template - they will receive the full reward. If a claim is in possession of the trader cart at the 120 minute mark, they will receive 1/2 of the reward. Once a claim is declared the victor - the GM overseeing the event will deposit 20, Q100 Baromsag into the claim's storage (designated by the claim lead). DETAILS The event will begin at 2300 EST on Friday, 18 Jan 2019. Mine! Possession of the trader cart is simple - whomever is towing the cart possesses it for their claim. There will be blood! This event will be full PVP - players must be prepared to die during the course of the event (it will not be easy). Normal server rules for PVP apply. Stop, Thief! There may be NPCs guarding the outpost - they will do their best to kill any player attempting to steal the trader cart! Wipe them out! Normal server rules apply for this event - siege equipment for example, is perfectly legal. As long as the blood flows... All players are eligible to participate, but only the claim that moves the trader cart back to THEIR claim template will be rewarded. You keep what you kill. Loot will be strewn about the outpost, and any NPC guards will have full complements of loot on them - any players that die can be looted as well.
