  1. When your crafting an upgraded wall, it crafts fine but says your missing X.  Sometimes x is 1/3 wall, some times its full wall some times its plywood... etc.  Even if you have the parts.  It does craft FINE it just gives a missing item report.

  2. Ladies and Gents,

I've sent out an invite to my clan to join the server in mass.  We will be joining the PVE server and possibly working as a unit.  If they enjoy then we may look at joining the PVP server as well.  So look out, here comes the Cav!

  3. I found my self a radio on one of the soldiers I killed and soon I was able to hear what was going on.  This time I had the drop on them.  I listened day after day as I gathered supplies and resources.  Soon I would hit them.  Soon I would take from them and make my own.  When I finally considered my self ready, I moved out.

As I was on my way to a local militia base I heard a report on the radio.  Another survivor on the island was found near by and was quickly killed with such precision and such execution that I realized I'd never get close enough to take out this squad of soldiers.  I quickly doubled back to my 'shack' and started to reevaluate my approach.  A long range sniper assault was my safest bet.  So I mounted a scope on my best rifle and began training.

I must have made too much noise because soon another survivor stumbled upon my training grounds.  It was a good idea to work together, so we did.  First we took out a local police garrison who took a town.  After a while, though, we trained so well we assaulted a military unit.  We got them, but not before my friend died.  We had cleared the area, we thought, but we missed one.  That one found us and killed my friend.  I was able to pull my rifle in time and kill the soldier before he got me.  So I survive another day, this time at the cost of a new friend.
  4. Here it is, day two and I'm waking up in a strangers home.  As I look around for the man who saved me, hes no where to be found.  So I ate some of the food he gave me quickly, grabbed my bag and my gun and took off.

It didn't take me long to survey the small island I was on.  It was completely barren except for the mans house and some trees.  However, I could see other islands near by.  Close enough, any way, I could swim to them.  So I threw the gun in the bag, jumped in and started swimming.  I was a little more than half way to the other island when a fish bumped my leg.  That's when every shark attack movie I ever saw came rushing to mind.  Like an idiot I started swimming faster.  Wasn't till I got to the other side when I realized, had there been sharks in the water, swimming faster was a bad idea.  It was like ringing an even louder dinner bell for them.  Never the less, I was on land again.

I took out the pistol and started inland.  Soon I found a road, the road I was on before actually.  I began to make my way up the road away from where I started yesterday.  Along the way I swore I could hear noises and felt like I was being watched.  I shrugged it off as paranoia as I entered the first house I found.  I made my way to what was surely the kitchen and began to rummage for food.  There was a can of peas and a bottle which I figured could hold some water if I found any.  The facets and even the toilet was empty, no water at all.

Next I checked the other rooms.  Didn't find any thing of use, despite my thoroughness.  As I was finishing up to leave, I heard rustling in the near by foliage.  Now I KNEW I was being followed.  So I got low and moved slowly, carefully heading to the back door, sure I'd catch my would be stalker off guard.  I liked to have shit a golden egg when I opened the door the rifle barrels and three men in full jungle gillie suits.

One of the men was the same man who rescued me previously.  The other two, obviously, were new to me.  I know I must have looked silly to them because they all had huge grins on their faces.  On even chuckled a bit.

"What the...", I began as one of the quickly moved and shoved his hand over my mouth.  He put his finger to his lips and shook his head.  Then he took some kind of cammo netting and threw it over me.  The three quickly rushed me through the woods and to a small helicopter.  They shoved me in and we soon took off.  Once in the air, the others spoke.

"I'm Pete", the first one said, "we met yesterday, but I couldn't take you to our base until we had an idea you weren't going to try to kill us in our sleep."

"Kill you in your sleep", I exclaimed, "I'm still trying to figure out what the hell is going on here."

"Good job Pete", another one chimed in, "your bringing a bambi to our home."

"Relax Ken, I'm sure hes going to be ok once hes up to speed", the Pilot stated.

  5. The next day or two I spent just roaming around.  Houses were unowned but yet there were supplies and gear in them.  At first I left stuff alone, thinking it was peoples, but then I saw the 'locals' taking stuff from the houses and decided I would too.  By night fall I had a pistol belt and a small back pack, enough food for a couple days and clean water and a shotgun.  Honestly I felt like hot stuff.  I found an abandoned home in the middle of Athira and I hunkered down for the night.  My mistake!

I woke up to a rifle to my head, a guy going through my freshly acquired goods, and a very mean looking warlord who I was sure would kill me.  He said I wasn't worth the bullet and instead he just took all my stuff and drove off, but I learned three important lessons.  One, make sure I am some where more secure when I go to bed.  Two, stash some food and water near by in case I'm discovered.  Three, and most important of all, there are working vehicles on this island!  So, I went about looking for more stuff.  I wondered if that was what my life was coming down to, looking for stuff.

****By the way gang, found this link, its pretty kewl.  ALTIS is real!  https://www.google.com/maps/@39.9185236,25.2295942,28928m/data=!3m1!1e3 ****

  6. She was smokin' hot.  I should have known something was wrong when she came up to me.  I was totally a fool.  I wonder when she did it, but at some point she roofied my drink.  I didn't realize I had been roofied till I woke up to the feel of the wind rushing past my face.  Its a good thing I was clairvoyant enough to pull my chute cord or else... splat.

Feet on the ground, this place seemed... dead.  I didn't realize how dead it was.  I walked around for a bit before I saw him.  A guy just standing around not doing any thing.  I made my way up to him and called out.  He ignored me or didn't realize I was talking to him, so I tapped him on the shoulder.  Then it happened, he turned and tried to bite me.

His skin was torn and falling off his face.  Part of his cheek bone was exposed.  One of his eyes had been destroyed.  It was horrible, I had no idea what was wrong with him.  Then it hit me, this was a real life "Walking Dead" scenario.  Either that or a bad dream.  Rather than test the waters I ran.

As I ran, I found an ATV with the keys in it and some gas in the tank.  I didn't bother to give a seconds thought to the former owner.  I took off as quick as I could and just drove.  I drove as far as I could till the gas ran out.  The road was desolate and I was right next to a shore line when he caught me off guard.

"Hey, say something now or I'll shot you", the man said.

    "Don't shoot, I'm unarmed", I replied.

"Not any longer", he said as he handed me a small 9 mm hand gun, "This place is too dangerous not to have a gun.  There are zombies every where.  Come with me if you want to live."

He took me down to a boat and we went to an island near by.  He gave me some clean clothes, some food and a back pack and told me to watch my back.  Not every one was friendly and the zombies ate every one indiscriminately.  What a first day, and I was still trying to figure out what happened to the woman.

  7. So, I didn't realize what I was signing up for when I agreed to be part of the Exile Experiment.  It sounded fun, get away from a corrupt government of greedy selfish people out to keep me down.  Build my own world, a utopia of my own.  They never said any thing about a militia on this island.  Never said any thing about roaming psychos in military vehicles.  Even the police are corrupt and killers.  This is nothing like they made it out to be.

The cruise in was nice.  It helped to add to the deception that awaited me.  Even when we landed in Kavla every thing seemed like a vacation.  I was so excited, pretty girls, white sandy beaches, blue skys and sun shine.  This was it, the life I always wanted.

The next day I woke up to the cold hard reality of it.  Gunshots rang out and I thought it was some one shooting off party poppers and fireworks till I found my self staring down the barrel of a .45 revolver.  If it hadn't been for a man who I will nick name Lt. Ironsides, I would not have lasted.  He saved me and quickly brought me up to speed.  This 'experiment' was simply a way for the government to get rid of any one they considered a dissident.  He gave me a handgun and sent me on my way.

To my surprise we had a cash system.  Pop tabs, thats what we call it.  I dont know why that came to be but it is so I could care less.  I found food and water, so I didnt have to buy that, but clothes, a back pack, all of these things cost money.  Needless to say, this first real day on Altis was hell, but it was not the worst of it!

  8. Hi, I'm Sam and I am very new here... LOL.  However, as I have made this my ARMA 3 home, I thought I'd chime in.  First one post I want to reply to, the one regarding the loot spawn.  I for one like the loot spawns the way they are, its helpful for bambis when they first get in game.  Any way, I enjoy exploring and finding loot in buildings is kinda the reward for that exploration.  As for the server wipe, I understand, but wouldn't it just be easier to set up a rule that if players are not active, say log in at least once every three months, their bases are forfeit and deleted.  This way not every one is forced to start over when people go awol and clutter the server with empty bases.

The next suggestion I'd like to make is a vehicle limit.  I say no more than 1 ground combat, 1 air combat, 1 repair, 1 fuel, 1 ground storage and 1 air storage/lifter.  Six should be more than enough for any one person.  This should also help take the strain off the server.  And for those in groups, limit it to 1 repair and 1 fuel per group.  No reason they cant share, I mean I'm in a group and we had no issues sharing amongst our selves.  Especially with a number code and not a physical in game key.

I would also suggest changing the AI slightly.  Roaming/spawning AI should be limited to specifically Military areas up to x distance from military areas.  Mainly because, if you have say 12 players on, and each player ends up causing a 5 man ai team spawn on them, that's 60 ai units that's now bogging down the server, plus the pre-existing roaming ai.  That's gonna create lag.  But if, instead, you only have random ai spawn when players enter military loot areas, then you may limit the AI spawn to like 20 ai, and save the resources the other 40 ai would have used.  And instead of having a bunch of roaming ai all over, have one roaming ai vehicle that is set to go all over the map, and one roaming ai helli that does the same thing, and then limit the others to a path near military locations.

As for the starting poptaps after the wipe, I'd say 250,000.  Most of your players have spent well over that on vehicles and bases parts and if they are going to start over, 250,000 would be enough to give them a good couple vehicles for missions and to get a base going.  Just my two cents.

Also you had a note up for coders/scripters.  Ive done a lot with Arma 2 so Id be willing to take the time to learn the Arma 3 script and help if you still want/need?
