Winter is finally among us and there have been strange voices in the woods.  Villagers have been reporting strange snowmen popping up throughout the forest, almost seeming to move as soon as they look away...Perhaps these strange creatures are here to deliver gifts...or perhaps the wrath of Skadi...

[Winter Festival!]

Greetings All!!,

       This coming Friday (04/13/2017), shall be the Grand Opening of the Festival Grounds and subsequently the first tournament of the year!  The following events shall take place.

1. Drunken Boxing

• 1v1 Unarmed, No Armor combat in the spike pit.
• Combatants will fight until a knockout
• No taunts, no prayers.
• Combatants must each consume 3 barrels of wine (provided by admin) before the start of the fight.

1st place in the bracket shall receive 5s, and their choice of 50 flax or 50 flux (quality 50)

2nd place in the bracket shall receive 2s 50c and their choice of 25 flax or 25 flux (quality 50)

3rd place in the bracket shall receive 50c and their choice of a bull, ram, or 5 chickens (quality 50)

      2. Armed Combat

• 1v1 Armed combat, wooden weapons provided by admin.
• Your choice of simple armor, which you may keep after the fight (quality 25)
• No taunts, no prayers.
• Winner decided by knockout

1st place in the bracket shall receive 5s, and their choice of 50 flax or 50 flux (quality 50)

2nd place in the bracket shall receive 2s 50c and their choice of 25 flax or 25 flux (quality 50)

3rd place in the bracket shall receive 50c and their choice of a bull, ram, or 5 chickens (quality 50)

     3. Main Event: Jousting

• 1v1 Joust.  Bring your own armor, bring your own horse
• 1 Point for a hit to the body. (Verified by admin combat log.)
• 2 Points for a hit to the head. (Verified by admin combat log.)
• An instant victory and ownership of opponent's horse for a dismount.
• First to five wins the match.  0 points awarded for striking an opponent's horse.

1st place in the bracket shall receive 1g and their choice of 100 flax or 100 flux (quality 50)

2nd place in the bracket shall receive 10s and their choice of 50 flax or 50 flux (quality 50)

3rd place in the bracket shall receive 2s 50c and their choice of 25 flax or 25 flux (quality 50)

I personally prefer to play on OGG's fastest growing server, Life is Feudal.

For those of you who have the game or have been looking for a good excuse to buy it.  I have a private LiF RP/PVP server that I have been doing nothing with and have offered it up for OGG usage.  If we get enough players interested in it we may throw the OGG tag on the server and make it an official part of OGG

For those of you not familiar with LiF it is a very large sandbox "survival" game with a medieval theme.  The game requires you to setup a settlement with multiple players who all have different jobs such as farming, gathering, hunting, woodcutting, mining, blacksmithing, carpentry, construction, cooking, liquormaking, alchemy, etc etc.  The game has a lot of depth to it and you can find yourself with a few hundred hours of play and still keep going.  I have a few friends who have hit 1000 hours on the game since its release and are going strong.

The server has some fairly simple rules.  No KOS (kill on sight) during the day, try to RP it before you go bashing skulls.  Full KOS at night.  If you are in a declared war with another claim, KOS any time.

There are weekly events such as Jousting Tournaments, Races, Combat Tournaments,  and the famous Drunken Boxing!  (The drunk vision in this game is hilarious)
