repairing higher end tracked vehicles

I've owned a cheetah for quite some time and understand duct tape doesn't work for tracked vehicles.  I've gathered up a sizable amount of cash and was considering picking up a t80 or m1a1, but have noticed some issues with intermediate tracked vehicles.  The group of us managed to stop a BRM-1K yesterday without blowing it up.  We tried to repair it with a HEMTT and tempest repair vehicles, attempted to tow with a strider, a cheetah, a bobcat, lifting with a chinook...nada....if it's not possible to do such things on an item with an 85k price tag I shudder with the thought of spending 350k and basically losing it the first time I take a glancing blow from an rpg.

is there a way to properly maintain such vehicles?
